I have been quilting for about 25 years and decided to turn my passion for quilting and hand made items into a company that I will 'retire' to someday!  Butterflythreads started as a small company in 2011 when I invested in a long arm quilting machine.  I specialize in edge to edge and custom quilting.  I also like to quilt large sized fabrics to make into smaller gift items.

My interest in creating and sewing began as a young child.  I grew up with a mother who loved to sew.  She showed me the basics of the sewing machine and let me create to my heart's desire !    Another influence that you will see in my posts is that of my grandmother.  She was about as thrifty as they come!  Thus the name - Thrifty Emma when I find something that can be re-purposed or upcycled.
